ARTWORK POLICY

On-Line Picture Dictionary Database Artwork Policy as of November 2017 The On-Line Picture Dictionary Service is an artwork database available for teacher/users where artwork can be searched for, identified, then imported into a student activity template ready for classroom use. This service is available by paid subscription. Artwork is created to represent words and phrases present in the On-Line Picture Dictionary Service. The following is the official ELA Reading, LLC’s artwork policy regarding any artwork accepted for upload on this service database.

  • Any image, line drawing, colored illustration or photograph will be referred to as Artwork.
  • All line images, illustrations and photographs on the database are unique and original pieces of artwork.
  • Artwork is created from the artist’s experience, environment and study.
  • Artwork cannot be based in anyway on pictures found on the World Wide Web also known as the Internet.
  • When possible and practical, Artwork can be based on a photograph taken by ELA Reading staff under the direction of the Art Director or Managing Director.
  • In the case where a particular word image subject is not known to the artist, the artist may refer to written and Internet materials for research on that specific subject before creating the Artwork. Artist will seek a minimum of three references before Artwork creation. Further, his/her Artwork may not clearly resemble any one image found in any printed book or digital Internet image.
  • Any Artwork found to have questionable originality, meaning or content shall be re-created or edited appropriately as supervised by the Art Director.
  • All Artwork will be reviewed by the Art Director for appropriate content, meaning and originality. The ultimate acceptance of any Artwork will be at the sole discretion of the Art Director or Managing Director.
  • All contracted artists will review and sign that they have read and understood this policy. I have read and understand this policy. I agree to abide by these policy expectations.
